In October 1944, while Albania was on the verge of complete liberation from the Nazi occupation, the Headquarters of the First Corps of the National Liberation Army announced the election of members of the Antifascist National Liberation Council of the Durrës District and the Shijak Sub-prefecture . “The great victories of the National Liberation Army and the Albanian people have brought the day of the realization of our dream: the establishment of a just popular government.”
In this context, the I Corps Headquarters announces that members have been elected for the Anti-Fascist National Liberation Council of the Durrës District , who will represent the people of the area in the composition of the new state structures.
