Editorial Policy and Corrections

Historiani aims to publish source-based explanations with headlines that accurately reflect their content. Original documents, transcriptions and editorial interpretations are distinct and should be presented clearly.

Sources and uncertainty

Historical records may contain allegations, propaganda or errors. Presenting a document does not endorse its claims or terminology. Source descriptions, archival references and dates help readers assess the evidence. Uncertain readings and attributions should be identified.

Translation and assisted tools

OCR and AI tools may assist with discovery, transcription, translation and drafting. Their outputs are not historical evidence. Names, dates and quotations require checking against the source. An English edition may be a translation or editorial adaptation of an Albanian article; material abridgements and source limitations should be disclosed, with a link to the original.

Corrections

Send the article URL, passage concerned and supporting evidence to info@historiani.com. Material corrections that change the meaning of an article should be accompanied by an editorial note.

Rights and reuse

Archival custody does not automatically mean unrestricted reproduction. Credits, permissions and reuse conditions must be assessed for each item. For a rights enquiry, identify the page and material concerned and explain the right you claim. Include only the information needed to review the request.

Editorial independence

Sponsored material must be labelled and distinguished from editorial work. An advertisement is not historical evidence or an endorsement by Historiani. Historical material does not establish present-day ownership of property or replace official records.
